PD that's actually
worth showing up for
Practical courses for CPAs, CFOs, controllers, and other credentialed professionals who need their hours — and refuse to waste an afternoon getting them.
Why does so much professional development miss the mark?
Do any of these sound familiar?
"Just need my hours. Another box to tick."
"The ethics case studies were so simplistic. Yeah, right — 'just report it and quit.'"
"Death by PowerPoint. Two hours I'm not getting back."
The usual culprits
Format drives content — not the other way around
A 2-hour session gets filled with 2 hours of material whether the topic actually needs it or not.
Experts in the subject. Strangers to your reality.
The material may be accurate — but if it's not grounded in the world you actually work in, it doesn't land. Knowing something and knowing your audience are two very different skills.
Ethics that insults your intelligence
Real ethical decisions don't live in clean case studies. They live in grey areas — and the training rarely reflects that.
Preachy, judgey, condescending
You're a credentialed professional. You don't need to be lectured at — you need tools you can actually use on Monday morning.
Practical over performative. Every time.
BZMind exists because the existing options weren't good enough. Not too philosophical, not too rule-bound — and never, ever judgey.
If you can't use it, we won't teach it
Every course leaves you with something concrete — not theory you'll never apply.
Nuance over rules
Real decisions live in grey areas. We don't pretend otherwise — that would insult your intelligence.
Short, tight, respectful of your time
Courses are as long as they need to be — not padded to fill a block. Your time is valuable.
Peer to peer
You know your field. These courses meet you where you are.

Congratulations Michelle! I have listened to many presentations from all over the world, but never experienced such an excellent presentation. It was lively, informative, a perfect balance of wording and pictures and 100% successful in conveying the message of ethics.
Amazing presentation! I have learnt a lot from Michelle. Like the way she talks, gentle, calm, and sweet! Love it!
Good thought provoking conversation. There was a lot of material presented to think and work through.
Really enjoyed how this was set up like an informative conversation.
This was an excellent course. Very valuable information. The best part is the delivery by Michelle. She goes at the right pace and she makes the material very interesting.
This was the most interesting and well-articulated ethics course that I have ever had the pleasure to take! Thank you!

Tax, ethics, and practice — taught the way you actually think
Four courses built for credentialed professionals who want substance, not seat time.
Smart People, Tough Decisions
The ethics course for people who are tired of being told what they already know. Real dilemmas, no easy answers, no finger-wagging. You're smart enough to find the loophole — this course asks whether you're wise enough not to use it.
2025 Tax Update
What changed, what matters, and what to actually do about it. The year's key developments in plain language.
Income Tax for Canadian Entrepreneurs
Tax planning for business owners who are tired of getting vague answers from advisors who don't understand their world.
Building a Successful Tax Practice
The business of tax advising — what separates practices that grow from ones that plateau. Client relationships, referral systems, scope management, and the habits that keep good advisors from burning out.
Hi. I'm Michelle.
I'm a Chartered Professional Accountant, former educator, and communication specialist — and I've been teaching live seminars and workshops to professional audiences since the 1990s.
BZMind grew out of a specific frustration. Existing PD was either too philosophical and abstract, or too simplistic and rule-bound. Either way, it rarely reflected the real decisions professionals face. So I built something different.
I also hold standing with the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers (CAPS) — because knowing your material and being able to teach it are genuinely two different things. Both matter.
